The author has done a great job of creating a character and world reminiscent of 1940's noir detective stories, but with a perspective and life experience of the 2000's. Good book, well written.
This book wasn't too bad at all. Kept me interrested through it.
Michael Seaver books are always worth reading especially his Noah Chance series
I thought the book was a good read. Everything flowed at an even pace and kept your interest up. I like the fact that Mr. Seaver finishes one story before starting another.
Interesting character. I only gave it a 4 because it was confusing at times as to who was who and how they tied into the main character. All in all, a good book, interesting plot and good finish.
This author is one of the best authors and I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. There were twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end. I liked how the author showed that everyone has demons to fight. Will definitely recommend this book to read.
This is the second book in the Noah Chance series. Once again, the author gives us the opportunity to accompany Noah Chance as he moves through the process of resolving the murder of a long-time friend while attempting to address his own, very challenging, life issues. You can't help but fall in love with this guy he's very flawed but also smart, intelligent, loyal, and in his own way, loving. The character development is excellent. This is a stand-alone story, but at the same time the characters from the first book are re-introduced in Second Chance and we become totally immersed in their lives, right along with Chance.
Chance's perspective on life is dark. This is a dark tale written in a manner that leaves room for hope; hope for Chance with all his flaws and foibles, hope for all the other characters in the book, hope for all of us.
Chance's characters are human, his angst is evident yet presented in a manner we can all relate to. The story line is complex enough to keep you interested but not so much that you lose interest.
The author does a great job of wrapping up the mystery but opens the door a crack for book three!
